As part of the redo, I wanted to display a picture or two of our wedding day, since I never got around to doing that -and really, after 16 years of marriage I think it is waaaay overdo lol! For inspiration I went to my favorite place, Pinterest. I found a great idea about using a window sash to display a picture, and I just had to do it!
I was talking to a coworker about my project and the fact that I was looking for a window sash but that I couldn't find one that was in my price range, when she remembered that she had ine in her basement that she had not used for quite sometime and offered to give it to me. When she finally got it to me I was ecstatic!! It was just what I had been looking for! All I needed to do was fish out the wedding albums to find the perfect pic to put in the frame. Eeek!
I put it off for awhile, but tonight I finally went through the stacks and stacks of pictures and finally came across this one ... the perfect picture to display in our bedroom! Wooot!
I love the natural nature of this picture <3. It really shows what our marriage has been for the past 16 years - pure joy and happiness (well, not all the time but mostly lol)!
But while searching for this picture I found something else. Something equally priceless. Something I had taken for granted in the past but now wish I had...
... an undeveloped film! Yup.
What's the big deal about a used film?
Well you see, the day we moved into our now home, was the last time I ever saw a box full of used films that I kept safe "to develop in the future". Somehow, somewhere during the move, we lost that box of films - a cardboard shoe box full of priceless memories that I will never get back. Loosing those films left a big void in my heart. It was just devastating. All of my daughter's baby pictures went wherever that box went. To this day I still feel a sadness overcome me when I think about the box of lost films :(.
So finding this film tonight was a huge blessing for me! It's like getting back a piece of that box. Recovering a little bit of "lost" family history *sigh*. This is the last film that contains some of the most priceless memories of my life—or my childrens' lives as babies and toddlers!
I don't know which pictures I will find there when I develop this film tomorrow, but whatever they are, I'm sure I will cherish the memories the same way I have cherished the above wedding picture.
I can't wait to find out what they are. Tomorrow I will share my findings with ya'll, so stay tuned!
To be continued...
